| "From Soil to Oil" Statfold Seed Oils Ltd New Development: A specialised plant for CO2 super critical extraction We are actively notifying people working in both the commercial and Government sectors of our new development and would welcome any enquiries to discuss the matter further for the purpose of producing new products for commercial markets. Company Profile Producing speciality oils for cosmetic, pharmaceutical, nutritional and non-food markets Since its conception some eight years ago, Statfold Seed Oil Developments has quickly become probably the biggest producer of cold pressed natural and organic seed oils in the UK and quite possibly in Europe. Based on their own 1500 Acre farm in the heart of the midlands, and owned by Mr Graham Lee. Day to day operation is the responsibility of Director Peter Sedgbeer heading up a team of eight employees. They operate eight twin screw cold pressing expellers, working twenty four hours a day, 7 days a week and press approximately 50 tonnes of seed per month. All seed grown and purchased is cleaned to 99% pure and only bought from pre-approved producers and suppliers. The seed storage facility includes an underfloor state of the art, humidity controlled dry air fan system which keeps the seeds in pristine condition. Borage seed is grown on the farm for the production facility and trials for growing flaxseed are currently in progress with initial results looking promising. This ability to grow, harvest, extract and refine high quality oils under one roof, without the use of chemicals is a concept they call "from soil to oil". Cold pressed and filtered oil is stored in chilled stainless steel containers ready for either refining, drumming or bottling. Refining is via an on-site innovative batch refiner perfect for high quality food grade oils, that can bleach and deodorise. Dedicated technicians constantly monitor processing, testing and research in the on-site laboratory, enabling Statfold to maintain a standard of oil that competitors strive to equal. All oils are stored in a specialised cold storage facility away from heat and sunlight. By May 2003, there will be the addition of a custom built, large scale, three tonne capacity CO2 Super Critical Extraction Plant capable of extracting down to below half a percent, retaining all the natural nutrients whilst still being acceptable for organic recognition. It is believed that this could be the largest plant of its kind in Europe and possibly the world. The Company is one of the biggest producers of Organic Flaxseed Oil and Hemp Oil, and specialise in the production of GLA and Omega oils. They supply many UK companies with their own label products which include Hemp Seed Oil (Natural), Organic Flax Oil and Organic Pumpkin Oil. Nutritional omega blended oils of 3-6 & 9 EFA's + vitamins etc. are a speciality, produced to customer requirements by use of a specialist computer program. Twelve months ago Statfold began bottling self label nutritional food oils as a cottage industry. Such has been the success of this project that they are now awaiting delivery of a fully automated bottling, capping and labelling machine capable of producing fifteen hundred bottles an hour. Statfolds extensive customer base includes companies within the pharmaceutical, food & nutrition and cosmetic market manufacturing formulators from major blue chip companies to individual soap makers, and trades world-wide either directly or with a number of trade partnerships. Committed to total quality management and working to ISO 9002 standards, Statfold has been certified Organic by the Soil Association (SA) and is regularly inspected as a food grade plant. All seed and oil is fully traceable through an electronic batch monitoring system which is incorporated into the company's financial and stock management system. A comprehensive In-house environmental policy includes aims to use Natural and organically grown seeds to include animal non-testing declaration. Statfold is quickly becoming the leading expert in sourcing and procuring speciality oils and is working closely with agents in Africa supplying seeds and oils endorsed through fair trade schemes. The current range includes Marula Oil, Baobab Oil, Papaya Oil and Passion Seed Oil to name but a few.
